Common questions

Good questions deserve straight answers.

Is Finn really free forever?

Yes. Finn’s useful core is free: budgeting, debt payoff planning, manual entry, on-device insights, and financial education. Finn Plus is an optional upgrade; the free tools will not be degraded to push an upgrade.

How does Finn make money?

Finn’s business model is an optional Finn Plus membership. Finn does not run ads or take commissions for recommending financial products. Plus pricing and availability will be shared when they are ready.

Do you sell my data?

No. Finn does not sell your personal information or use it to target ads. Some features send information to Finn’s service so they can work. The Privacy page will explain those details before public launch.

Do you offer credit cards, loans, or refinancing?

No. Finn never offers, promotes, or refers credit cards, loans, refinancing, debt consolidation, buy now, pay later, or other financial products. Lessons explain financial topics so you can make your own decisions; they are not product recommendations.

What are Finn’s lessons about?

Short, practical lessons cover budgeting, debt, credit, and related money topics. They are educational, not personalized financial advice or referrals. Finn also points to independent resources such as the CFPB, NFCC, and Federal Student Aid.

How does vault recovery work?

Your recovery code lets you restore the encrypted vault on a new device. Finn staff do not hold a recovery key. If you lose every device and your recovery code, the vault data cannot be recovered; a password reset restores account access only.

Can Finn staff see my private vault data?

Vault records are encrypted on your device before sync, and Finn’s server does not hold the keys needed to decrypt them. The service can still see account and device identifiers and metadata such as record IDs, sizes, and timing. Not every feature uses the private vault.

What if I lose my phone?

You can restore your vault on a new device with your saved recovery code. If you still have another trusted device, you can use it to enroll the new one. Keep your recovery code somewhere safe and separate from your phone.

Which phones can I use Finn on?

Finn is being built for iPhone and Android. It is not available in the app stores yet; download links will appear here when the apps are ready.

How do I delete my account?

In Finn, open Profile, choose Delete account, and confirm. Account deletion removes your profile, server data, and private data stored on that device. The action cannot be undone.
